Q.1 How do I embed the TrakVan.com music player?
Follow the instructions on the Home page; set up your user account and then embed the music player by copying and pasting the script onto your web page or Facebook page.
TrakVan.com also gives you a free web page for each album and single so you could place a link on your personal web page or Facebook page if you prefer.
Q.2 Does TrakVan.com cost me any money?
It is free to download and use the music player. The music player is already configured with a “buy” button which enables you to sell your music. TrakVan.com will process and account to you for the sale proceeds from which we take a transaction fee. For more details please see the fee schedule in our Terms and Conditions here.
Q.3 What if I use the app just as a music player and then decide later I want to sell my music?
Just log into your TrakVan.com account and deactivate the “buy” button. You can reactivate it at any time.
Q.4 When do I get my money?
We will account to you monthly and start paying you once your account balance reaches AUD$100. At any time you can access reports that will show you how your music is selling and what you are owed.
Q.5 Can I set my own prices for singles and albums?
Yes, however the minimum price for a single is AUD$0.99 and for an album (min 10 tracks) is AUD$9.99. EP’s have a minimum price of AUD$3.99 (minimum 4 tracks).
Q.6 What music file formats can I upload?
At this stage TrakVan.com only supports mp3 files.
Q.7 What if I already sell my music online through another system such as iTunes?
TrakVan.com works independently from all other music systems and allows you to transact with your customer without the customer leaving your site.
TrakVan.com gives you a greater percentage of your gross music sales than many competing sites and there are no upfront costs, upload limits or costs or download limits or costs.
A big advantage of TrakVan.com is that your fans will complete their purchase on your site rather than be redirected to a 3rd party site where potentially they could be distracted and you lose the sale.
Q.8 What reporting does TrakVan.com provide?
TrakVan.com has a comprehensive reporting system that is always accessible to you. You can view and download reports covering – number of visitors, number of plays, number of sales and balance owing to you at any time.
Q.9 How much control do I have over my TrakVan.com account?
You have complete control. At any time you can add or delete tracks, change pricing, add or delete images or edit or delete personal details.
It is important that you keep personal information on your TrakVan.com account up to date otherwise we may not be able to contact you or make payments to you.
10. What if I am an overseas artist not resident in Australia?
Anybody can join TrakVan.com no matter where you live. TrakVan.com will make payments to you through PayPal so you will need to set up a PayPal account.
Q.11 Is there any limit to the number of tracks or albums I can put on TrakVan.com?
The simple answer is no. TrakVan.com has almost unlimited capacity
Q.12 Does the music on TrakVan.com have to be my music?
In the TrakVan.com Terms and Conditions, each Artist specifically acknowledges that the work in each song is their own work for which they hold the copyright.
All monies paid by TrakVan.com to the Artist include all royalties (if any) that may be payable to third parties.
Q.13 What are coupons and how do they work?
TrakVan.com has developed a marketing tool for independent artists which will allow you to provide a discount through a coupon. You will be able to print and/or distribute your coupon online or at a gig to encourage fans to visit your site, sample your music and buy a track or album for a discount by entering the unique coupon number during the buy transaction period.
You can manage and track your coupon sales through the TrakVan.com reporting system.
